About Us: Emblem is a contemporary Art & Design studio based in Pune, India. Founded by artist / Creative Director, Jayesh Sachdev, Emblem is constantly disputing and challenging the schematic definition of Artist and a ommercial Design Studio by synergising mediums and formats of art and design, integrating fasion, commercial design works, art, and music. In 2007, it established the Emblem Art Gallery to promote young artists. In 2008 it launched Emblem Couture, a limited edition shirt label for men. The art and design studio has constantly focused on creative dynamics, creative liberty and freedom of artistic expression as integral components in its visual delivery. Emblem provides customised design and art needs, both in digital and traditional art forms. Emblem is a cross-disciplined studio with an aesthetic conciousness, focused on experimenting with different mediums of art. Emblem Art Gallery has been voted by India Today as Indias Top 12 Coolest Galleries for 2008. It has collaborated with with international acts in music and art and held sell out shows in NewYork and several others across the region. About the Artist: Jayesh Sachdev, graduated with a major in Advertising and Design from Lasalle-SIA College of the Arts, Singapore, in 2005. In 2006, he founded Emblem Studios, followed by the Emblem Art Gallery and Emblem Couture. |
His enterprising dynamicism saw him being acknowledged and credited as British Council Recipient for the Top 5 Young Arts Entrepreneurs in India, 2008. His enterprising nature saw him begin the Emblem Art Gallery (which was listed by India Today Nov 2008 as India’s. Top 12 Coolest Art Galleries) to promote emerging talent. Thereafter he soon launched his own T-shirt label, Emblem Couture. Jayesh has held several exhibitions in New York, India, Singapore and his upcoming shows include Paris and Miami. His works are with private collectors across the globe. In addition his works are with acclaimed Bollywood film-personalities, including Priyanka Chopra, Naseerudin Shah, Subhash Ghai and the likes. Jayesh was commissioned a series of 56 pop-art paintings for a 'Bollywood Walk of Fame' of stars from the silent era in the 1930's-2009. Post his succesful "Raja Ravi Verma Re-invented in Pop" he has been actively involved in the merchandise design for Ketan Mehta's film Colours of Passion (Cannes Film Festival 08) on the artists life. He has also been involved with charity art events attended by the President of India, APJ Kalam, He is also the finalist of the Tiger Translate India Arts Awards 2008. |
